Living in the Foothills

“Art and Nature are united to tell the double story of the earth and of man on earth, the story of nature and of man’s relationship with nature.” - Fancoise Bensson, The Memory in Nature in Aboriginal, Canadian and American Context
My youngest child is working through grade 8 English and recently did a unit teaching about our connection with our environment & our responsibility to the earth and used the above book for an assignment.  The author statement "Nature contains the geological memory of the earth"  turned my gaze to the geological sites in Tumbler Ridge and the mountains beyond my little town, in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.

So I am painting the beauty of rock, trees... and water.
